Bishop Bruno was born in 1970 to an Italian-Catholic family and raised in Ohio; attended public schools in his childhood and also the Ohio State University, where he found there was a traditional Roman Catholic movement.
While studying for the priesthood at a traditional & independent seminary in Omaha, NE, he was asked to return home for a time to help family through an unexpected financial hardship. This ended up being a providential time, as he met Fr. M. Nicolas Luna, a traditionalist Conventual Franciscan priest from Brazil, and joined this independent Franciscan priest at Our Lady of Mercy Friary, in Cleveland, OH. Under the tutelage and direction of Fr. Nicolas, “Br. Bruno,” made Solemn & Perpetual Profession in 1998, and completed the required canonical courses in preparation for ordination. Fr. Bruno was ordained priest on January 6, 2001, and later consecrated a bishop on September 9, 2007, by independent and traditionalist Catholic bishops using the ancient pre-Vatican II rites. These same bishops were also ordained and consecrated with the same traditional rites; both bishops consecrating Bp. Bruno received Apostolic Succession from Bishop Patrick Taylor, SVM.
Bishop Bruno’s Lines of Apostolic Succession are from the +Duarte-Costa and +Thuc lineages. Both lines are already well documented, established and known, so these will not be published here, but are available upon request. Those who have “issues” with accepting either of these Lines, simply need to look elsewhere to find clerics that meet their personal standards and requirements.
Bishop Bruno does not accept the Vatican II church, its hierarchy or any of their “affiliates” as being Catholic, as evidenced by their teachings, lifestyles and well publicized illegal and immoral activities (see just one of many examples below), which is why he is determined to re-establish the Conventual Franciscan Order in a traditional and truly Catholic environment and community.
